Description
Solution dyed nylon supplied and installed across corridors, landings and stairs in an occupied Brighton apartment building.
The owners corporation for a three-storey Brighton apartment building needed the common area carpet replaced. The existing carpet was worn through on the stair nosings and stained around the lift lobby, and the building had to stay fully accessible to residents throughout.
We recommended solution dyed nylon in a mid-tone flecked design: it holds up to constant foot traffic, resists bleaching from cleaning products, and hides the day-to-day marks that show badly on plain colours. Samples were presented to the committee before sign-off.
Installation was staged one level at a time, starting each day after peak morning traffic, with the stairs done in sections so no resident was ever without access. Old carpet and underlay were lifted and removed the same day, the subfloor was checked and prepared, and new underlay laid before installation. All work complied with AS/NZS 2455.1.
The building was finished ahead of the agreed timeline with no resident complaints logged with the strata manager.
